About This Spot

Stepping into Montgomery Towne Tavern feels like slipping into a well-kept secret tucked away in a quiet corner of Cincinnati’s suburbs. The lighting is soft and muted, casting a cozy glow over worn wood and simple furnishings that invite you to settle in and stay awhile. It’s the kind of place where the hum of conversation and clinking glasses build a warm backdrop, setting an easy pace for catching up with friends or enjoying a laid-back meal without fuss.

This neighborhood tavern has an unpretentious charm, a place where regulars and newcomers alike gather around TV screens, dartboards, or the bar itself. There’s a comforting familiarity here, where small details—a friendly nod from the bartender, the steady rhythm of laughs, the shared focus on a well-worn pool table—make the whole experience feel approachable and unhurried.

Food here is thoughtfully rooted in honest, hearty flavors rather than flair. The kitchen’s smoke-infused wings draw attention for their generous size and depth, paired with a rotating selection of housemade sauces that range from subtle to boldly tangy, inviting you to find your favorite pairing. Whether it’s the satisfying crunch of onion rings, indulgent potato skins loaded with bacon and cheese, or a classic burger piled high with onion rings and a house-special sauce, meals here feel like an intimate nod to comfort and craftsmanship. Each bite tells a story of neighborhood gatherings, late afternoons, and the joy of simple pleasures.

What truly sets Montgomery Towne Tavern apart is its ability to feel both familiar and refreshingly genuine. It’s not about the flash or fanfare but the quietly confident knowledge that good times and satisfying flavors can coexist in a humble setting. For those seeking a spot where the focus is on connection, well-made food, and the kind of pace that lets you unwind on your own terms, this tavern provides a quietly memorable experience worth discovering.

Dive bar with great food! We popped in for a pre-wedding groomsman lunch. Just like any great dive bar, it's dark and basic inside. Don't let that fool you. The food here is killer. The wings are huge, and smoked to perfection. They have several house-made sauces as well. The home made tater-tots are great. As are the Cajun fries. The point is, get in there and try them.

The smoked wings are amazing ! With a flight of homemade sauces these wings do not disappoint . Absolutely delicious and may be the best smoked wings I've ever had . Alicia behind the bar had amazing service . 5 stars and will be back for more wings !

Fun local tavern with lots of TVs, darts and bar coordinated games. We went for an afternoon drink and felt welcomed. Drinks were generous and reasonably priced. The potato skins were excellent. This is apparently a favorite lunch spot. A little hard to find tucked in the far left end of the strip shopping center.

Looking for a suburbs dive bar? Montgomery Tavern is the place to go. Small, intimate, just good vibes all around. 1 pool table and 1 dart board, so it’s hard to play if that’s your thing. But the biggest surprise is, this place easily has top 3 smoked wings in Cincinnati, right up there with knockback nats and oak tavern (among a lot of great wing spots in the city). I ALWAYS take my out of town friends and family here for their wings.

Small local bar, known for their chicken wings. The wings were HUGE and it was a lot of food for the money. However, the wings were undercooked to our liking. The bartender even commented that the wings were larger than normal so I'm thinking they just had not adjusted cooking times based on the larger wings. The sauces were good and so was our service.... just wish the wings were more well done.

My sister and I was going through a difficult time and the excellent, extraordinary heart felt customer service we received from Alesia our server was needed. She was so very attentive. We will definitely return.
